A rough guesstimate says that the TV show ‘Baywatch ‘was immensely popular among the male populace than female. The popularity was not because of the ‘noble’ work of rescue (By coast guards) depicted in the show, rather it was due to the astounding presence of its female contingent especially their well-endowed, extra-large assets!
What is it about a man (straight man, to be precise) and his abiding obsession with two jiggly, wiggly melons filled with fat. Scientists and anthropologists have wracked their head over it but haven’t found any answers to the fascination. But Larry young, a neuroscientist may have done a Robert Langdon and cracked the code after all.
A professor of psychiatry, Larry young from Emory University thinks that the ancient neural circuit in a man ticks strongly despite the leaps and bound man has made in the evolutionary circle. According to Young, the neural circuit that developed to strengthen the mother-infant bond uses the same brain circuit to connect the couples. The result: Babies and men both love breasts! (Aha! Did not we always say men will always be boys/ never grow up.. Here’s the proof)
The Anatomy of the Breast;
Any healthy, virile man knows that breast is the pearly gate that opens the highway to heavenly pleasures. When a woman’s nipples are stimulated (sucking, touching, nibbling etc.) oxytocin a chemical generally known as the ‘love drug’ is released. The drug focuses her attention and affection on the stimulator. But how does it provide great sex? Recent researches show that nipple stimulation activates vaginal and clitoral stimulation enhancing the sexual arousal in women who focus their attention on the man generating the heat!
Young states that man can make himself more attractive by focusing on releasing the oxytocin. The oxytocin is released when a man massages, nibbles, fondles a woman’s breast. The released chemical aids the woman in focusing her attention on her partner and builds a strong desire to build a bond with her partner. This is a trick learned from the cradle by the wily man.
But before you start salivating at the easy way to obtain your ‘fix’. Fran Mascia-Lees makes an important observation or throws a spanner into the works. The anthropologist states that an evolutionary biologist must take into account the cultural differences before announcing a universal reason for a behavior/emotion. Mascia-Lees boosts his argument referring the society in African cultures. The anthropologist asserts that women in numerous tribes don’t cover their breasts yet men aren’t stimulated by the sight of undulating dunes.
Young retorts saying that though bare breast may not excite the male species, it does not imply that massage and stimulation of the breast have no role in the foreplay. Even though it seems like a sensible reply, there are no studies, strengthening or weakening the claims of Larry Young.
